Melissa is a professional dancer and
currently based in New York City
where she just finsihed performing
in the 76th Radio City Christmas
Spectacular at the Radio City Music
Hall as a Rockette. Melissa has also
toured nationally and internationally
in 42nd Street under the direction
of 2001 Tony Award winning director
Mark Bramble and Valerie Rives,
was a principal dancer for the
national tour, Solid Gold Dance Party, and has numerous regional credits
including productions of Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Seven Brides for
Seven Brothers, aswell as the Holland American Cruise Lines.
Melissa has been dancing for most of her life and has had extensive
training in all styles of dance including ballet, Pointe, modern, jazz, tap,
and lyrical dance styles and holds a BFA in Dance from the University of
Akron! As a dancer, Melissa has had the opportunity to work with
numerous notable dance professionals, including the Broadway legend,
Charles Repole, Eileen Grace, Michelle Barber, Julie Branum, Sha
Newman, Michael Lichtefield, and John MacInnis, to name just a few!
Considered a "Triple Threat" in the industry, Ms. Thomas is a member of
Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and American Guild of Variety Artists
(AGVA). Among Melissa's television and film credits are recurring roles
on AMC's television series Into Character and appearing in television
commercials.
Being raised in the Midwest, Melissa is very excited to bring her love of
dance to aspiring Midwest dancers! As a professional dancer, Melissa
recognizes the value of dance competitions and workshops/conventions
and is excited to be a part of the ASPIRE Team!
